Italian Burgers with Roasted Asparagus

Carbs 6.5 grams per serve


For the burgers -
● 700g of mince
● 2 Tablespoons of Italian seasoning (6 g)
● 2 Tablespoons of garlic powder (20 g)
● 1 Tablespoon of onion powder (7 g)
● 1/4 cup of coconut oil (60 ml), to cook with
● Salt and pepper, to taste
For the asparagus -
● 14 spears of asparagus (224 g)
● 2 Tablespoons of olive oil (30 ml)
● Salt and pepper, to taste
Serves 4


1. Preheat oven to 220 C.
2. Place the asparagus in a single layer on a rimmed baking tray. Drizzle with olive
oil and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
3. Place in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tender.
4. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the mince, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Form the beef
mixture into 8 burger patties.
5. In a large pan, melt the coconut oil over medium-high heat. In batches, fry the burger patties until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. 
6. Serve the remaining burgers with the roasted asparagus.
