2 slices bacon, chopped
400 grams can whole green beans with liquid
1/2 teaspoon no-calorie sweetener (optional, equal to 1/2 teaspoon sugar)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 small onion, chopped
In a pot, cook the bacon until browned but not crisp. Do not drain the grease. Add the beans and liquid, sweetener, salt and pepper. Sprinkle the onion over the top of the beans and don't mix in. Cover and bring to a light boil. Simmer 45 minutes. Adjust the seasoning, if needed.
